Our team
Alex
Hewlett
Alex's
speciality is making financial issues understandable, and
providing participants with the tools and knowledge to improve the
financial performance of their own businesses.
Almost all his work has been with non
financial managers within
business, who need an understanding of how profit, cashflow and
budgeting work, and how they can help improve them.
He
trained as an accountant with Neville Russell in Oxford, before moving
to the
business services group in Grant Thornton's Reading office. In both
these jobs he came to understand the issues and problems facing owner
managed businesses.

He then moved to Grant Thornton's national training centre,
outside High Wycombe, working first with graduate trainees, then
becoming the firm's insolvency training manager.
In 1993 he established Attainment Training, where he has specialised in
providing financial training to non financial staff.
Outside of work he enjoys walking, good food, steam railways, and
vegetable gardening.

The
backroom team
Emily
and
Cuthbert (both boys - it's a long story) have been valuable members of
the team for most of their lives. They contribute in many varied,
valuable, yet unspecified ways to the success of your training.
Outside of work they enjoy sleeping, pest control and bird watching.
